Pumpkins Pumpkins and more Pumpkins

So I have been horrible at this whole blog thing. Unfortunately it's turned into the once a month blog. Oh well, something is better than nothing right honey?

October was a great month and kept us quite busy. We kicked off the month with a fun Pumpkin festival. The girls rode horses, made their own crowns, ate carmel apples, played carnival games and best of all picked out their very own pumpkins.

Nikki absolutley loved the horse...

Katelyn on the other hand looked terrified.

The carmel apples sure did hit the spot. They were absolutely delicious!

Nikki had an eye for the perfect pumpkin and no they did not all look that good.

They could have ran around like this for hours. We had a great time and now we're ready for Halloween!

1st day of school

Today was katelyn's 1st day of preschool, a day that I myself was stressing over went perfectly. She slept in ,so Nikki and I had to very carefully wake her up, making sure she woke up happily which is hard to do. We managed to get ready in a timely manner with no meltdowns and made it to school on time. Katelyn had the opportunity to be the "teacher's helper." This was quite the job. It entailed bringing the snack, doing the weather board, being first in line and ringing "the bell," which was her favorite. When asked what she did at school she responded, "I rang the bell, passed out snack, went to the park (playground), shared, made friends... but I don't know my friends names. That's a problem." She had a great day and is excited for ThursdayKatelyn and her teacher Mr. Polk. At 6'7" he teaches the smallest students
I think katelyn has a crush

Party Every Day!

We had Nikki's party at the Farewell Bend Park. They don't do reservations so it was firts come firts serve. Tracy and I went up at 8:00 to decorate the pavillion. It proved to be harder than we thought. I almost killed myself hanging balloons while stepping on a ledge about 1 inch wide and I knelt in who know what but it was really sticky and very disgusting. Needless to say our decorations were kind of sad, it's a good thing the food made up for it.
Becky was generous enough to make cupcakes. We had planned on making them from scratch but we opted for the box at the last minute. I loved Nikki's 3 tiered cake.We can also thank Becky for the personally hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries. Although, she didn't do her job, I didn't get them for free.

We had planned on doing a BBQ but again I changed my mind. Instead we had chicken salad sandwhiches, potato salad, and chips. It was good and less work them grilling.

I'm also quite proud of the little goodie bags that I made. I love photoshop!
You can't tell that I like color coordination can you? It didn't stop with the decorations. After I had made the invitations and everything, my mom and I looked for fabric for Nikki's b-day dress. Isn't it a perfect match?
She was actually quite modest with the cake
At first that is...

We had a blast and as you can see we got some great pics too. We Miss you and love you and wished you could have been there. She was thinking about her daddy the whole time!

Nikki's 1st Birthday

Can you believe she's 1? Time flies so fast. That's a very good thing in our case right? We went to Red Robin on Friday, her actual birthday. She loved the baloons and all the singing and clapping. I swear there were like 10 birthday's that day. She ate the cherry and we all helped with the rest.

New Saturday Morning Activity

I think it's in kids blood to know what to do with a blanket and wood floors. They learn at a very early age. Thought these pics were super cute

Katelyn's a born shooter!

When Mitch was here he dug out from who knows where, a box with a bunch of his stuff from a long time ago. Inside that box happened to be a bb gun. My dad decided to get bb's for it and Katelyn just had to have a try at it. It took her awhile to learn to pull the trigger hard enough, but once she got a hang of it she didn't want to put it down. We're going to get some targets and see how she does. For now she is just excited to hear the clang against the fence.

She was so proud of herself and I think Dad had fun aswell. We love you!

High Desert Museum

So the last time my family went to the high desert museum was when we were dating, like 8 years ago. IT was really nice but for the life of me I could not find the porcupine area. I was talking it up all day to katelyn and we never found it. Luckily they were doing a viewing and they brought out a porcupine so I was saved. We had a fun time looking at all the exhibits but Katelyn's favorite part had to be taking tons of pictures. For some reason she was very eager to be infront of the camera. All I heard all day was, "mom, take a picture of me with this, take a picture of me with that." I guess I can't complain too much. A lot of them turned out really cute.

Katelyn says she "definitely" knows what your favorite animal is. As soon as she saw the bald eagles she made sure to tell me to take pics for you. So here you go.

We love you and we're always thinking about you!

Meet The Cousins

Mitch and Kelli came over today which meant it was Katelyn and Nikki's first time meeting
Evan (5) and Gabriel almost (3). His birthday is the day after Nikki's. We started off the day with a nice brunch thanks to mom, with egg casserole, blackberry cobbler, fresh fruit and yogurt. It was delicious and nice to have everyone here, minus the most important.

Kevin decided to encourage Kelli and mitch to experience the infamous float down the river. Mitch took him up on the offer but Kelli and the boys stayed back with Tracy and I at the little beach area. We had a lot of fun although as you can imagine, the water was freezing.

and yes, Kana pulled Becky the whole time. While they had their fun, we had ours

The kids had a blast digging in the sand, chasing ducks and getting to know eachother. Mitch, Kelli and the kids are here till Monday so I'm sure they'll have plenty more opportunities to wreak havoc.
