Meet The Cousins

Mitch and Kelli came over today which meant it was Katelyn and Nikki's first time meeting
Evan (5) and Gabriel almost (3). His birthday is the day after Nikki's. We started off the day with a nice brunch thanks to mom, with egg casserole, blackberry cobbler, fresh fruit and yogurt. It was delicious and nice to have everyone here, minus the most important.

Kevin decided to encourage Kelli and mitch to experience the infamous float down the river. Mitch took him up on the offer but Kelli and the boys stayed back with Tracy and I at the little beach area. We had a lot of fun although as you can imagine, the water was freezing.

and yes, Kana pulled Becky the whole time. While they had their fun, we had ours

The kids had a blast digging in the sand, chasing ducks and getting to know eachother. Mitch, Kelli and the kids are here till Monday so I'm sure they'll have plenty more opportunities to wreak havoc.

HOT HOT HOT

I can't complain too much because I know this is a touchy subject and can't compare to your 120 degrees but I just have to. We went to Ashley's wedding in portland and it just happened to occur the week of record breaking temps. Can you believe it was 107 degrees today over there? Thankfully it was about 10 degrees cooler during the 3 days we were there but you have to remember nobody in oregon has AC in their house. Need I say the nights were somewhat miserable. Reguardless of the temp we had a great time and it was a beautiful wedding held at an interesting location. The ceremony was held outside but the reception was at an air museum that housed the Spruce Goose by Howard Hughes. You would have liked it, planes everywhere

This plane literally took up the entire length and width of the building and our table was right under the wing. If you asked Katelyn what her favorite part was she would say, "the princess and the candy."

I bet you you wouldn't be surprised to know that she was the 1st one to fill her goody bag. Her favorite were the Gummi Frogs Yum Yum!!!

For some reason I don't have any pics of Nikki, I guess she was too busy polishing the museum floors with her dress.

We had a great time at the wedding and ended up staying at Dawn's for 3 days. Which I have to share with you something that might not be hilarious now but definitely was at the time.
Your daughter probably spent 15 min. contorting her body in different ways and going at it in different angles, trying to get through this doggy door. Unfortunatly as soon as I got the camera out she got distracted and knew eyes were all on her. Katelyn just couldn't let her have the show all to herself and had to jump in. Look at Nikki's face, she is an IMP

A Neat Way to Keep in Touch!

We've survived week 1! I love how often you're able to call and how easy it is to communicate these days, especially with the technology we have at our fingertips. I don't know how I'd deal with us not seeing you if it weren't for the web cam. If not for the magic jack, I would probably confine myself to a chair in front of the computer waiting for the chance that you might be on yours. Fortunately enough, I know you're able to reach my cell without it costing a fortune and I'm able to enjoy the sunshine. I bet you didn't think it would take you leaving me for a year, to teach me to bring my cell phone with me everywhere I go. I think I got it down now. You haven't caught me without yet. have you? Anyway I thought this would be another fun way to keep in touch over this next year. I don't want you to feel you're missing out on anything so my plan is to post as much as I can as often as I can, so that you have something to look forward to. I love you so much and I'm so proud of you. Always know that we're thinking of you every minute of every day and apparently for Katelyn, especially when eating marshmallow cereal.
